Ataining this accreditation certifies that the individual has satisfactorily completed required specialized training for Infection Control Risk Assessment (ICRA) meeting requirements for the Environment of Care, the patient population and the built environment. These factors are better known as the “Fundamentals of Infection Control for the Healthcare Contractor”.
The Institute’s training is the only infectious diseases course that teaches best practices from the hospital’s perspective and at the clinical level, in regards to the patient population.

This training covered: Infection Diseases and Their Modes of Transmission in the Healthcare Setting, Principles of Infection Control During Construction, Demolition and Renovation, Infection Control Project Management, ICRA, Patient Sensitive Environments, ASHRAE Standard 170 and Ventilation Standards for Healthcare Facilities (international technical society organized to advance the arts and sciences of heating, ventilation, air-conditioning and refrigeration).
These courses, exclusively approved by the The Green Building Council (LEED) , were developed from regulatory changes implemented by The Joint Commission under the Affordable Care Act (ACA). Members of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) also received credits of continuing education for the training.
